IPDiscover Process

Hello.

Wondering. The IPDISCOVER how it works.

The server will do the job or the clients(discover)?

Now, what about the perl script "ipdiscover-util.pl" this I can see that if I run manually it ill detect and show me the list of IPs found from my devices like AP, firewall, switches.
What is the difference between the dashboard and this tool?

Do I have to run this script once a week or just once?

Any help to clarify my doubts will be appreciated, running latest version 2.11.1 under Ubuntu 22.04LTS, thanks!!!
